HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Matthew Morrison is shooting down tabloid chatter that he's a lifelong cheater whose sexual conquests include his current Glee costar, Lea Michele.
"We were literally on set and I got a call from my publicist, and she got a call a minute later and we looked at each other like, 'What the f--?' It's so laughable," Morrison, 31, tells Parade of the reaction he and Michele had to the cheating rumors.
The latest issue of Star magazine features an interview with the actor's former fiancée, Chrishell Stause, who claims she called off their engagement because of his fling with Michele, among others.
"I believed he was seeing other people and just wasn't ready to fully commit," Stause says.
When asked about his ex going public with their dirty laundry, Morrison insists she would never do such a thing.
"I have a great relationship with her," he says. "I feel like I can handle this stuff because I don't really care. I've never gotten into tabloids and I don't really care about it now, but I just feel bad for other people in my life who are getting dragged into it. It just kinda sucks."
In real life, Morrison is very much like his character, Will Schuester, in that he feels the need to protect his show's young cast from the pressures of Hollywood.
"They come to me with a lot of questions about things," Morrison says. "I am the teacher on the show, and it's kind of translated to our real lives. They have a certain amount of respect for me, so it's kinda cool."
