SAN JUAN DEL SUR, Nicaragua — His first child might be on the way, but Matthew McConaughey still knows how to have a good time.
The 38-year-old actor needed to be helped out of a Nicaraguan bar earlier this month after a solid night of drinking, a witness tells Rush & Malloy of the New York Daily News.
McConaughey, whose girlfriend, Camila Alves, is due to give birth next month, headed to San Juan Del Sur in search of the perfect wave, but he apparently spent a great deal of time conquering cocktails instead.
Witnesses say the "A Time to Kill" star was plenty thirsty the night of June 6 at the local cantina Iguana — so much so that he ended the evening in a ditch.
After finding a unique resting place, the actor managed to bounce back in full force for a second evening at the bar, where he reportedly showcased his Texas charm to several ladies until losing one of his flip-flops.
"He stood on a table, screaming in broken Spanish, 'I've lost my flip-flops,' " a female witness tells the Daily News.
McConaughey says most of the story is true, except for the part about being unfaithful to his Brazilian model mom-to-be.
"Drunk? Absolutely," he wrote the paper. "Nicaragua is a beautiful place, epic waves, the best surfing I have ever been on. And yes, I'm STILL looking for my left flip-flop. So if anyone finds it floating around down there (it has 6:22 stitched into the side), please send it my way. There is a reward."
