HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Matthew McConaughey is speaking out about being a father for the first time.
"It's not a science, but I think I've got the instincts for it," the actors tells Entertainment Tonight. I'm looking forward to the big adventure!"
McConaughey and his girlfriend, Brazilian model Camila Alves, announced that they were expecting a baby two weeks ago. The 38-year-old star first made the announcement on his Web site.
McConaughey, who can next be seen in the film "Fool's Gold," says he's already getting plenty of daddy advice from friends and family.
"One thing I've heard that's consistent is, 'whatever plans you make, throw them out the window!' " the actor says.
The "Dazed and Confused" star says he and Camila don't want know the sex of their baby.
"We want to keep the suspense as high as possible!" he says.
McConaughey's "Fool's Gold" hits theaters on Feb. 8.
