HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Mariah Carey is speaking out over rumors she's pregnant and expecting her first baby with husband Nick Cannon.
"I appreciate everyone's well wishes. But I am very superstitious," the 40-year-old pop star said Wednesday in a statement to RadarOnline. "When the time is right, everyone will know-even Cindi Berger [her publicist]."
Carey has the Web buzzing again about her belly, which appeared a bit more round over the weekend when she performed at the 2010 Barretos International Rodeo in Brazil.
Of course, pregnant rumors have been surrounding Carey ever since May when she was spotted leaving a fertility clinic in Los Angeles. That was followed by her sudden decision to drop out of Tyler Perry's upcoming movie, For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow Is Enuf.
A month later, Cannon took to Twitter to address the pregnancy speculation.
"If & when my wife is ready to make ANY announcements about private matters she will do it personally," he said. "Thanks for being respectful. God Bless."
