HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Mandy Moore has poured a lot of blood, sweat and tears into her fashion aspirations, but the young star says the time has come to focus on her music career.
Moore, whose new folk-inspired album, "Amanda Leigh," drops on May 26, tells Women's Wear Daily that she's hanging up her Mblem clothing line for the time being.
"I love the fashion world. I'm fascinated by it. I'm humbled by it," said the 24-year-old Moore of her three-year experiment.
Moore was speaking with the publication while in Japan, where she performed a special show on Monday night to celebrate Coach's new headquarters in Tokyo. The singer told WWD that she recently worked with Coach president and creative director Reed Krakoff, who pitched in to help shed Moore's wholesome image on her new album cover.
"We had some fishnets going on…I haven't necessarily dipped my toe in that pool before but I liked it," Moore said of the collaboration.
Moore, who is currently dating Ryan Adams, said she's open to the possibility of returning to fashion, but only on her terms.
"If I were to dip my toe back in there, it would have to be the right situation… a great partnership that could represent a true reflection of me and my ideas and you know that wasn't happening," she said.
