HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Kelly Osbourne may be having some sleepless nights now that's she's joining the cast of "Dancing with the Stars."
"I'm so excited, but I cannot tell you how terrified I am," Osbourne revealed Monday on Ryan Seacrest's KIIS-FM radio show. "Dancing is something that I've always really wanted to be able to do, but never had the confidence and the technique. I'm not very graceful, so it's just something that absolutely terrifies me."
It's that same very fear that made Osbourne want join the hit ABC reality series.
"I wanted to do something different," she explained. "I wanted to do something that scared me, and I don't think anything could scare me more."
Osbourne recalled a time a few years back when her dance floor shortcomings became obvious in the musical "Chicago" on London's West End.
"I was originally supposed to play Roxie, but when it came down to doing the dancing, I couldn't learn the dancing in time because I can't dance," she said. "So I went and did [the role of] Mama Morton instead."
Osbourne will square off against such competitors as Aaron Carter, Donny Osmond and Melissa Joan Hart, but the 24-year-old daughter of Ozzy and Sharon insists she won't be overly disappointed if she falls short in winning the mirror ball trophy.
"I don't care if I win," she said. "I'm not doing this to try and prove I'm better than someone else. I'm doing this because it scares me."
