HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Jennie Garth says she's disappointed that Tori Spelling won't be joining her on the upcoming CW spinoff of "Beverly Hills, 90210."
"I'm really bummed because I love Tori and I was psyched Tori was going to be on the show," the 36-year-old Garth tells Entertainment Weekly.
In May, the network announced that Spelling would reprise her role of Donna Martin, appearing as "the owner of one of the coolest stores in Beverly Hills, a shopping hot spot that is frequented by the new cast of characters."
But news broke Monday that Spelling would not be joining the contemporary spinoff of the hit 90's teen soap. According to DeadlineHollywoodDaily.com, the 35-year-old actress discovered that Garth and fellow co-star Shannen Doherty were earning $35,000-$50,000 per episode, compared to her $10,000-$20,000 per episode.
"[The press thinks] we're at war over salary with Tori. I didn't know I was at war with Tori," said Garth, who will reprise her role of Kelly Taylor.
"I think she should definitely get paid as much as either of us is getting paid. Her father created the show. It just seems wrong if that's the case," she continued. "I don't know what really happened because I haven't talked to her. I would like to talk to her."
Doherty, who is set to return as Brenda Walsh, also wasn't buying the online report about a salary dispute.
"They didn't even get the numbers right," the 37-year-old star explained to EW, "so I don't know if it's about the money either."
As for whether there's any hope for Spelling's return, Garth told the magazine she's not ready to throw in the towel just yet.
"I'll try to butt my head in whenever I can and tell people what I think about it," she said.
