HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — With their baby's due date fast approaching, Idina Menzel and Taye Diggs are busy making last-minute arrangements for their new arrival next month.
"They want everything to be perfect," a friend of the couple tells American Superstar. "This is a moment they've been looking forward to for so long."
Menzel and Diggs, both 38, first met in 1995 when they co-starred in the original Broadway production of "Rent." They went on to marry in 2003 after seven years of dating and announced their first pregnancy in March.
"They couldn't be any happier right now," the insider says of the longtime couple.
The Tony award-winning actress previously told Us Weekly that her husband has long looked forward to becoming a father.
"He wouldn't talk about marriage, but he'd talk about me having his children," she said. "He's always wanted kids. He grew up with four younger brothers and sisters, so he's very comfortable around children."
