NEW YORK — Hailey Glassman is shooting down claims that she ransacked Jon Gosselin's apartment.
Gosselin contends that someone recently broke into his New York City apartment, causing significant damage while the father of eight was spending Christmas with his children in Pennsylvania. There have been reports that the Manhattan home had a nasty note from his ex Glassman, which was stabbed to a dresser with a butcher knife.
Glassman allegedly confessed to writing the note when questioned by police, however she denied punctuating it with the blade. She also told authorities that she had nothing to do with the stolen items or the smashing of his family's 100-year-old Ming-style vase, a source told the New York Post.
"To me it appears to be a huge, huge publicity stunt," Glassman's attorney, Anand Ahuja, told the paper. "There was nothing taken she wasn't entitled to."
Ahuja added that Gosselin told his ex, "I am going to be evicted, so take with you whatever you want to take."
Sources also said reporters began arriving at the precinct house well before Gosselin was interviewed by police, raising concerns that the event was staged. The timing would be interesting since Gosselin may be starving for media attention. Earlier this month, a Maryland judge ordered Gosselin to quit making media appearances that TLC claims violates his contract with the network. The order stems from an ongoing legal showdown between TLC and the reality star.
However, Gosselin's attorney, Mark Heller, argues that Glassman is raising her own questions.
"It's extremely perplexing and incredulous that she would acknowledge that she wrote the note that was speared with a butcher's knife ... and yet she disclaims that she trashed the apartment," he said.
