HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Evan Rachel Wood says there's nothing to the rumors suggesting a blossoming romance with her "Wrestler" co-star Mickey Rourke.
"Spread the word — I'm not dating Mickey Rourke," the 21-year-old actress told People at Sunday's Hollywood Life 3rd annual Behind the Camera Awards in Hollywood. "Everybody thinks we're dating and we're not."
It was the second denial in a matter of days for Wood, who split from her rocker boyfriend Marilyn Manson last month.
"Mickey and I bonded while shooting 'The Wrestler' and we became friends, but nothing more," she previously told the magazine in a statement. "I guess, because of my recent break up, I will be linked to many people, but I am not interested in pursuing a relationship at this point in my life. Any such rumor should not be taken seriously."
Wood added that she hopes "people will focus on the film and not get distracted by any nonsense" when it comes to rumors about a relationship with her 56-year-old co-star.
When asked if there was any truth to the ongoing rumors, Rourke also denied a possible romance in the making.
"No, no. I'm a big fan of hers and she's a big fan of mine," he told People.
Wood also told the magazine that her split from Manson has been far more cordial than the tabloids have made it out to be.
"It's not the nasty thing everybody thinks it is. I'm doing fine, as best as can be expected ...," she said. "Right now, I'm just enjoying being on my own."
