HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Drew Barrymore is lacing up to celebrate her directorial debut.
The 34-year-old star will be roller-skating with her fans next week to promote "Whip It," her new film that revolves around a small-town girl who joins a female roller-derby team.
Barrymore will get her exercise on from 3 to 6 p.m. on Sept. 11 at the Bonaventure Skating Center in Farmington Hills, Mich. The first 955 fans at the venue will be able to join the star and skate for free.
"Whip It," which also stars Ellen Page, Jimmy Fallon, Zoe Bell, Kristen Wiig and Juliette Lewis, was shot in Michigan.
The movie debuts in theaters on Oct. 2.
