HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Sean "Diddy" Combs has settled a lawsuit in which a man claimed the rap mogul punched him at a post-Oscar party.
Gerard Rechnitzer filed the lawsuit last year, claiming that he and his girlfriend were attacked when leaving an event at Teddy's Nightclub at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel. Rechnitzer claimed that Combs punched him without warning as the Bad Boy Records founder was talking to his girlfriend. He also claimed that Comb pushed his girlfriend and attempted to spit on another woman.
Terms of the deal weren't disclosed in court papers posted Monday on TMZ.com.
In a court declaration, the 38-year-old Combs countered that Rechnitzer lunged toward him and that "any contact ... was caused by his forward motion against my open hand."
