HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Dean Sheremet logged into his Twitter page on Saturday to thank his fans as rumors emerged that the dancer and his wife, singer LeAnn Rimes, have separated.
"Thanks to everyone for all the support through a very difficult time!" he Tweeted.
Sheremet, 28, and Rimes, 26, have reportedly been separated for some time. The couple tied the knot in 2002 after meeting a year earlier when Rimes hosted the Academy of Country Music Awards, in which Sheremet appeared as a dancer.
"They are leading separate lives and not staying together most of the time, but still in each other's lives as best friends," a source told Us Weekly of the couple's break. "They are still not divorcing yet, but are working through things and taking time apart — as they have been — while they figure things out."
Rimes has been rumored to be having an affair with actor Eddie Cibrian. The affair claims first surfaced in March, with Us claiming that sparks began to fly while the pair was shooting their Lifetime movie, "Northern Lights."
Cibrian and his wife, model Brandi Glanville, married in 2001. They have two sons together, Mason, 6, and Jake, 2.
Glanville told Us last week that she is no longer living with her husband.
"I want to do what is best for our children," she said. "Eddie and LeAnn deserve each other."
