NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Mindy McCready has entered a treatment facility for undisclosed reasons, the star's rep confirmed to People magazine.
McCready's entry into rehab followed a trip to the emergency room at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center on July 16, whereby "other issues" led to her seeking "longer-term and broader-based treatment."
"To her credit, she has entered into an extended-care facility where she will receive the care needed," the 32-year-old country singer's rep tells People. "And for the moment we ask that everyone respect her privacy."
McCready has endured a difficult past few months. In April, she acknowledged that she once had an affair with baseball star Roger Clemens. According to the Daily News, the couple first met in 1990, when McCready, who was just 15 years old at the time, was singing in a karaoke contest at a Florida bar. Clemens was 28 at the time and already a married father of two.
"Yes, I have known Roger Clemens for a long time," McCready previously confirmed to the paper in a prepared statement. "He's a kind and caring man."
In addition, McCready was arrested last month in Tennessee for violating the terms of her probation, after being accused of falsifying her community service records. McCready turned herself into authorities and was released two hours later after posting a $5,000 bond.
The "Guys Do It All the Time" singer is currently on probation following a drug charge in 2004.
