INDIO, Calif. — The Chemical Brothers and The Orb are among the latest artists to join the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival lineup, organizers have announced.
Also added to the festival bill is Seattle band Murder City Devils, folk artist Devendra Banhart and French dance pioneer Etienne de Crécy.
The additions follow the recent announcement that British pop star Amy Winehouse has canceled her appearance due to legal issues.
"The Chems confirmed before the original announcement, but couldn't give us an exact date," Coachella founder Paul Tollett tells the festival's new webzine, coachelladigital.com. "Etienne de Crécy was a matter of figuring out if we could do the show's production. Some other acts were waiting on their visas to get approved."
Paul McCartney, The Killers and The Cure will be the top headliners at this year's event, which takes place April 17-19 at Empire Polo Field in Indio, Calif. Others previously announced include Morrissey, Leonard Cohen, My Bloody Valentine and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs.
