HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Chelsea Handler is calling a rumored sex tape she made nothing more than a "joke."
On Wednesday, Radar Online reported the 35-year-old comedian made a "graphic" sex tape nearly a decade ago after she moved to Los Angeles. The footage reportedly begins with Handler performing a stand-up routine while fully clothed. It then cuts away to her performing a sex act with a male partner with a British accent.
Hours after the Radar story, Handler addressed the sex tape on her Chelsea Lately show.
"I want to pre-empt this episode by announcing that Radar Online is releasing a supposed sexy, sexy, sexy time tape of me from when I was 23 years old," she explained. "I would like to say to Radar Online: A) Thank for ruining the surprise Christmas gift to my staff and No. 2, it was made as a joke. I put it on an audition tape for a comedy club because I'm a comedian and I've been showing it at birthday parties for f---ing years."
"So way to get the scoop Radar," she added. "By the way, I just want everyone to know, somebody called my attorney a couple months ago and tried to get me to pay a million dollars to release this tape, to buy the tape of myself that I made, that I have and you know what I said? I'm not worth it."
This isn't the first time Handler has made a sexual splash. In December, she posed for the cover of Playboy.
"My dad is gonna love it because he thinks I'm very sexual," she joked when the cover was first revealed on the Jay Leno Show.
