SAN ANTONIO, Texas — Bret Michaels has been released from a Texas hospital after undergoing an emergency appendectomy earlier this week.
The 47-year-old musician and Celebrity Apprentice star departed Christus Santa Rosa Hospital-Westover Hills in San Antonio on Wednesday, the San Antonio Business Journal reports.
Michaels, a diabetic, was rushed to the hospital early Monday after suffering stomach pains and what was initially thought to be a severe case of the flu. A CT scan later revealed that his appendix was about to burst.
The former Poison frontman was in town to perform at SeaWorld as part of the theme park's Bands, Brew & BBQ concert lineup. SeaWorld says Michaels will now perform at the park on Oct. 1.
