Bret Michaels Hospitalized Following Emergency Appendectomy

Bret Michaels, pictures, picture, photos, photo, pics, pic, images, image, hot, sexy, latest, new, 2010HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Bret Michaels was rushed to the hospital early Monday and remains under doctor's care after undergoing an emergency appendectomy.

The 47-year-old musician and Celebrity Apprentice star was preparing to go on stage for a show Sunday night at Sea World in San Antonio, Texas when doctors urged him to seek treatment. He had been feeling ill all day with what he thought was the flu, his rep told Us Weekly.

"[He] is doing well and beginning the recovery process," his rep told the mag.

The rep added that Michaels will need to reschedule some of his remaining April tour dates as a result of the hospital stay. The new concert dates will be posted soon on his Web site.

The former Poison frontman is no stranger to medical woes, having been hospitalized on several occasions over the years as a result of his diabetes condition.
