Bon Jovi Announces 'Circle World Tour'

By Dave Paris on October 22, 2009

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — Bon Jovi is hitting the road and they don't plan to be home much.

The New Jersey rockers announced a new world tour Thursday in which the band will perform 135 shows in 30 countries over the next two years. Bon Jovi made the announcement at a press conference and concert performance at the Meadowlands Entertainment Complex.

"The Circle World Tour" will kick off on Feb. 19, 2010 at the Key Arena in Seattle, Wash. The North American run will be followed by a residency at London's 02 Arena in June before the band returns to the U.S. in the fall for an additional stretch of dates.

Prior to heading to London, Bon Jovi will open New Jersey's new $1.6 billion Meadowlands football stadium with a pair of concerts on May 26-27.

The band, comprised of Jon Bon Jovi, Richie Sambora, David Bryan and Tico Torres, made the announcement in front of 5,000 lucky contest winners, fan club members and on-site construction workers currently at work building the New Meadowlands Stadium.

The band's ''Lost Highway'' album tour was the top grossing tour of 2008, according to Billboard Boxscore.

Bon Jovi's new album, "The Circle," is scheduled to drop on Nov. 10.
