HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Billy Ray Cyrus has shot down rumors that he deleted Lindsay Lohan's phone number from daughter Miley Cyrus's cell phone.
According to the rumor mill, the 15-year-old star of Disney's hit series "Hannah Montana" exchanged numbers with the 21-year-old Lohan after meeting over the weekend of the Grammy Awards. When Billy Ray noticed Lohan's digits in Miley's phone, he was said to have hit the delete button.
However, Billy Ray denied the report while appearing on Ryan Seacrest's KIIS-FM radio show Tuesday morning.
"We love Lindsay," 46-year-old Billy Ray told the host, saying he hopes his kids think of him as a "best friend."
"I wanna be the person [Miley] wants to talk to," he added.
When asked how his daughter can avoid the troubles that have plagued other young stars, Cyrus said it's all about "having a good heart and loving people and knowing that you're here for a reason."
