HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — An arrest warrant has been issued for actor Shia LaBeouf, TMZ.com reports.
The 21-year-old star and his legal reps failed to appear in court Tuesday to address a misdemeanor charge. LaBeouf was cited for unlawful smoking outside the Burbank gift shop Skyblupink on Feb. 18.
According to TMZ, a $1,000 bench warrant was issued for his arrest.
LaBeouf was also cited for misdemeanor trepassing last November after a late-night shopping spree to a Chicago Walgreens. That charge was later dropped. He recently told Empire magazine that he is still "embarrassed" by the incident.
"I was an a--hole, and it was a mistake I'm still completely embarrassed about," he said.
As for an explanation, LaBeouf said, "I was in the middle of a strange mind state, having just come off a three-month window of focus."
"I can't diminish what happened at all," he continued. "But I can say this: I'm not the first 21-year-old to be arrested for a misdemeanor. There are lessons in life I need to learn, and I'm learning all of them in front of the public."
LaBeouf will next be seen in the eagerly-anticipated "Indiana Jones" sequel.
