HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Anne Hathaway has joined the growing all-star cast for Tim Burton's "Alice in Wonderland."
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the 25-year-old actress will portray the White Queen, "a benevolent monarch who is deposed and banished by her sister."
Also joining the cast is Burton's fiancé, Helena Bonham Carter, who will assume the role of the sister, The Red Queen.
Last month, Johnny Depp was officially confirmed to star as the Mad Hatter. Depp and Burton have a long history, having first worked together on 1990's "Edward Scissorhands."
Australian actress Mia Wasikowska, the star of HBO's "In Treatment," is set for the lead role.
Hathaway is currently starring in the feature "Rachel Getting Married." Her next movie is the horror thriller "Passengers," which is due out on Oct. 24.
