HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Andy Richter and Conan O'Brien are reuniting for some more late-night fun.
The 42-year-old Richter will serve as the announcer when O'Brien takes over hosting duties for NBC's "Tonight Show" on June 1, the network announced Tuesday.
The collaboration will serve as a reunion for the pair, who worked together for seven years on "Late Night with Conan O'Brien" before Richter left the show on May 26, 2000.
Following his departure, Richter starred in a pair of television series — "Andy Richter Controls the Universe" and "Andy Barker, P.I." He also appeared in such films as "Talladega Nights" and "Blades of Glory."
In addition to his announcing role, Richter will also participate in comedy bits for the show, the network said.
O'Brien, 45, said he's looking forward to having his old pal around when he takes over the "Tonight Show" reigns from Jay Leno.
"Andy is one of the funniest people I know and we've maintained a close friendship since he left 'Late Night,' " said O'Brien in a statement. "We have a proven chemistry that will be an incredible asset to 'The Tonight Show.' "
"I'm looking forward to working with Andy on a daily basis again, particularly since he owes me $300," O'Brien added.
