HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Aerosmith is bringing its "Cocked, Locked, Ready To Rock Tour" to the U.S. for 18 summer dates, concert promoter Live Nation confirmed Tuesday.
The legendary rockers will begin their summer trek on July 23 at Oracle Arena in Oakland, Calif. Other notable stops include a hometown show at Boston's Fenway Park on Aug. 14, which sold out in 23 minutes.
Tickets for select markets will go on sale this Friday on LiveNation.com.
Aerosmith hit the road last month in South America for a tour that wraps up tonight in Costa Rica. They will next head over to Europe for a 10-date run that starts with appearances at the Sweden Rock Festival on June 10 and Britain's Download Festival on June 13. The latter will be the band's first appearance at Donning Park since the 1994 Monsters of Rock Festival.
"I thought it was time to get my MOJO back, by rockin South America and Europe with a little HOME RUN at Boston's Fenway Park thrown in and then off to the rest of America to do what we do best!" said the band's frontman, Steven Tyler. "We're gonna rock you into the middle of next week!"
"This is a perfect time for us to tour North America as we are just completing a very successful tour of South America," added guitarist Joe Perry. "We are looking forward to our European tour next month and then bringing our show back to our home soil. We are running on all cylinders ... and ready to rock!"
Aerosmith endured an injury-plagued summer tour last year that saw three different band members get hospitalized, including Tyler, who famously fell off the stage during an August concert in South Dakota. The band then spent the next six months feuding openly in the media, with threats to replace Tyler, who eventually entered rehab for a pain killer addiction.
