Thankfully, Oppermann has a very supportive man in her life. She is happily married, even though she can't speak much for married life. That's because her husband is in the Air Force and went to Iraq on an emergency deployment just four weeks after they got married last December.
"I definitely have no idea what real marriage life is like yet," says a laughing Oppermann, who gets to speak with her husband every few days either by phone or email. "I just hope that they're helping and not hurting the situation over there."
As for what's on the horizon, Opperman is still working with Hawaiian Tropic and securing work through her own efforts. Over the last three years, she has worked for Maxim and Miller Lite to name just a few. She aspires to work on television, for surprisingly enough, the Ultimate Fighting Championship.
"I would die to do the UFC," says Oppermann. "I'm a huge fan. I'm not a bandwagon fan. I used to go rent the DVDs of the ultimate knockouts. I'm so glad that they've finally blown up and they are on TV now.
"I would love to someday be a TV show host. I want to be the female Joe Rogan!"
As she continues her journey, Oppermann admits that she is still bothered by the bureaucracy surrounding most agency requirements.
"You know what, to tell you the truth, it really bothers me a lot still because there's so much talent out there," she says. "I think agencies today are really missing out."
Despite that, Oppermann is grateful that she's had a chance to build a success career, all of which is due to her very own perseverance and hard work.
"I'm the one who had to physically talk to everybody, and make all these business calls and be my own agent, my own manager, and kind of my own entourage," she says. "It's definitely a more rewarding sense of accomplishment when I think about it."
