FOXBOROUGH, Mass. — Did Wes Welker mock Rex Ryan's alleged foot-fetish video during a press conference Thursday?
There are 11 reasons to think he did, since that's the number of "foot" references the New England Patriots star made during his chat with the media.
"These are the games you play for. What you spend all year getting ready for and you just want to put your best foot forward," the wide receiver told reporters.
Other gems included Welker saying quarterback Tom Brady is making sure the team "is putting its best foot forward." He also said the Patriots have been practicing like "good little foot soldiers" this week.
Welker also noted that Jets cornerback Darrelle Revis and Patriots teammate Deion Branch have "great feet."
Last month, the website Deadspin.com linked the New York Jets coach and his wife, Michelle Ryan, to several foot-fetish videos on the Internet. In one of the videos, a woman who appears to be Michelle is sitting in a SUV with her feet hanging out of the window as a man sounding like the NFL coach approaches.
"You have really beautiful feet," he tells the woman. She responds, "Thank you. You know most men do think my feet are pretty because ... well, they're soft and they're petite and, of course, they are very beautiful."
