HOLLYWOOD, Calif. – Lady Gaga has taken fans on another wild ride with her "Born This Way" music video.
The new clip, which premiered Monday, opens with a space-themed intro.
"This is the manifesto of Mother Monster," the 24-year-old singer says. "On GOAT, a government owned alien territory in space, a birth of magnificent and magical proportions took place. But the birth was not finite. It was infinite."
Directed by Nick Knight, the video includes countless costume changes as Gaga celebrates the song's message of self-acceptance.
"I'm beautiful in my way 'cause God makes no mistakes," she sings on the chorus. "I'm on the right track, baby/I was born this way."
"Born This Way" was written and co-produced by Lady Gaga. Fernando Garibay and DJ White Shadow also got co-production credits on the single, which will appear on her May 23 album of the same name.
"We were privy to watching her make the video and stuff, and as we were watching her do the choreography and everything, we were just blown away," Garibay told MTV News of the clip. "It's amazing. Her talent, I mean, she's so talented, but in combining the imagery, the dance and how it's expressed with the song is truly amazing."
