HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Tracy Morgan is recovering after undergoing a kidney transplant earlier this month.
The 42-year-old actor and comedian, who has diabetes, had the surgery around Dec. 10, according to Entertainment Weekly.
The funnyman is said to be recovering nicely. In fact, he spent Friday night at Madison Square Garden watching LeBron James and the Miami Heat beat the host New York Knicks.
"Tracy is doing well and taking some much needed time to recover after the surgery," his rep said in a statement. "He is looking forward to going back to work after the holidays."
Morgan is expected to miss two to three episodes of 30 Rock as a result of the surgery. The NBC sitcom will reportedly explain his absence by saying his character had some sort of a meltdown after something good happened to him.
Fellow 30 Rock star Grizz Champan underwent the same surgery earlier this year.
