HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Tony Hawk is calling it quits with his third wife, Lhotse Merriam.
The 42-year-old professional skateboarder filed for divorce Friday in North San Diego County, Calif., People magazine reports.
"We have made the difficult decision to file for divorce," the couple told the mag in a joint statement. "We remain deeply committed and loving parents to our daughter, and out of respect for that responsibility we ask that people honor our family's privacy during this important time of transition. Thank you for your understanding."
Hawk and Merriam married in January 2006 on the island of Tavarua, Fiji. They welcomed daughter Kadence Clover in June 2008.
The skateboarder also has three sons from his first two marriages.
