HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Selena Gomez is setting the record straight about rumors she's dating Justin Bieber.
In a new interview with People magazine, the 18-year-old singer and actress insists the pair are simply good friends who happen to have a lot in common.
"People ask me, you know, if we have friends in the business, friends who aren't in the business, and I say yeah, I'm very lucky I have friends who are in it," Gomez told the mag. "We're not any different. We're very lucky, but we just like to hang out. They shouldn't be stopping us from going out to dinner and things like that."
Bieber, 16, previously played coy when Ellen DeGeneres asked about his love life and reports linking him to the Disney star.
"She's sweet, she's a sweetheart," he said of Gomez.
