LOS ANGELES – Redmond O'Neal has reportedly tested positive for drugs while in rehab.
The 26 year old - the son of Ryan O'Neal and late actress Farrah Fawcett - is thought to have been caught after he began "acting suspiciously" at the facility in West Los Angeles, where he is due to carry out a one-year court-ordered treatment program after being arrested for heroin possession in August.
A source told RadarOnline.com: "Someone snuck drugs into the rehab facility on Saturday for Redmond. He was given a drug test after he started acting suspiciously, and it came back positive for drugs."
Redmond - who is due back in court later this week to face Judge Keith Schwartz - was previously sentenced to five years probation - which he could now be in danger of violating - when the judge opted to send him to rehab instead of jail for his drug and firearm charges, which he pleaded not guilty to.
Earlier this week, Ryan went to see his son in rehab despite a doctor advising against the appointment.
A source said: "Ryan was allowed to visit, against Redmond's doctor's orders, as it was thought the visit would be beneficial to Redmond."
Redmond was initially sent to prison following his arrest because the offence marked a breach of probation which occurred after a previous heroin possession conviction.
