TRENTON, N.J. – Gov. Chris Christie is picking a fight with the husband of one of the stars of "The Real Housewives of New Jersey" reality show.
Christie this week suspended Albert Manzo, the husband of Caroline Manzo, from the North Jersey District Water Supply Commission. The governor says Manzo and another commissioner abused the public's trust. He has criticized Manzo for not revealing that he lived in Franklin Lakes instead of Paterson.
Manzo told The Record newspaper he has an apartment in his Paterson restaurant and plans to fight to keep his job. His Franklin Lakes home is often shown on the reality series.
Christie also suspended Michael Cricco, who was paid for attending commission meetings while still on the clock for his $80,000-a-year job at the Schools Development Authority. Cricco was fired from the SDA on Wednesday after the governor said Cricco ignored an order to use only personal time to attend the meetings.
