HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Miley Cyrus regrets her now famous video in which she was caught smoking salvia out of a bong back in November, just days after turning 18.
The Hannah Montana star was asked about the incident in the March issue of Marie Claire, during which the interviewer notes that others her age are smoking a lot worse than salvia, a natural herb that is legal in California and has hallucinogenic effects.
"But they're not Miley Cyrus," she replies. "They're not role models. So for me it was a bad decision, because of my fans and because of what I stand for."
Cyrus also defends a photo that surfaced about the same time as the bong video, which tabloids painted as a "make-out" session with Nickelodeon star Avan Jogia.
"If you look at the picture, I'm turned away, and he's kissing me on the cheek," she explains. "It's very hilarious to me that people say, 'They're making out.' In making out, there's a tongue."
