HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Jaime Pressly is opening up for the first time about her January rough patch, in which she was arrested on suspicion of DUI and filed for divorce from Simran Singh weeks later.
"People [are] thinking my divorce is happening because of the [DUI] situation," the 33-year-old actress told Extra. "Truth is: These are all isolated incidents."
When asked about her split from the entertainment lawyer after 15 months of marriage, Pressly said: "We fell in love quickly. We got married very quickly. It didn't work out the way we wanted it to. There's nothing more to it."
The My Name is Earl star said she wanted to set the record straight to protect her 3-year-old son Desi, whose father is ex Eric Cubiche.
"When I hear the statements made that are so ridiculously unkind and untrue, it breaks my heart," said Pressly. "It's really hurtful on so many levels that I can't even explain it."
"I've watched so many people make mistakes, and never wanted to be that person," she added. I've been in the business for 16... 17 years. And I've been very good."
