DALLAS — Christina Aguilera will sing the national anthem at Super Bowl XLV on Feb. 6, the National Football League and Fox television announced on Monday.
"I have been performing the anthem since I was seven years old and I must say the Super Bowl is a dream come true," the 30-year-old star said in a statement. "I am really excited to be part of such an iconic event."
Aguilera, who made her big-screen debut last year in Burlesque, is a five-time Grammy award winning singer-songwriter. She previously performed at the Super Bowl halftime show in 2000.
The NFL previously announced that the halftime show will feature the Black Eyed Peas.
The Pittsburgh Steelers will take on the Green Bay Packers at Super Bowl XLV, taking place at Cowboys Stadium in Texas.
