LOS ANGELES – Gisele Bundchen was given a verbal warning after being stopped for speeding.
The 31-year-old supermodel - who has a 21-month-old son Benjamin with husband Tom Brady - was stopped by officers on Route 6 in Barnstable, Massachusetts, on Saturday for driving 70mph in a 55mph zone but was not given a speeding ticket for the violation.
Despite not being formally punished, State Police spokesman David Procopio insisted Gisele - who had two children in the vehicle - had not been given special treatment.
He said: "They had a brief discussion and the trooper reminded her that the speed limit is 55 and gave her a warning and sent her on her way.
"She received the same treatment as the other four drivers who were stopped under similar circumstances. She was slightly over the speed limit. There was no other dangerous behavior. There were no lane violations, no swerving, no aggressive driving - just driving too fast."
The spokesman also denied claims that Gisele gave the patrolling officer an autograph or mentioned her celebrity status or the fact her husband plays for local NFL team the New England Patriots.
He told the Boston Globe newspaper: "There was no citation to be autographed. It was a verbal warning. There was no 'I'm Tom Brady's wife.' "
