LOS ANGELES – Gene Simmons has married Shannon Tweed.
The KISS bass player – who previously claimed he would never marry – tied the knot with his girlfriend of 28 years in an evening ceremony on the Crystal Lawn at the Beverly Hills Hotel in Los Angeles yesterday.
Shannon, 54, walked down the aisle in an ivory Priscilla of Boston gown, carrying a bouquet of ivory garden roses.
When they then exchanged vows and said "I do," the crowd of 400 guests let out a huge cheer.
Guests included Playboy founder Hugh Hefner and Bill Maher, while members of KISS, including guitarist Paul Stanley, were among the wedding party.
The couple's two children Nick, 22, and Sophie, 19 – who was head bridesmaid – also looked on and cheered.
Fittingly for a couple who have been together for so long, their first dance was to Etta James' track 'At Last'.
Gene – who claims to have slept with over 2,000 women - proposed to former Playboy centrefold Shannon while they were on holiday in Belize this July.
As he got down on one knee, he told her: "I come with so much baggage, but you're the only friend I've got, you're the only one I've ever loved, you're the only one I love, and the only one I ever will love.
"I've never said those words to anybody, and I don't ever wanna... It's funny, they used to watch movies where they say I can't live without you but for me it's true."
