LOS ANGELES — Eminem racked up 10 nominations to lead the field of contenders for the 2011 Grammy Awards, organizers announced Wednesday.
The 38-year-old rapper is in the running for several major awards, including Album, Song and Record of the Year.
Rising R&B star Bruno Mars was second with seven nominations, with rapper Jay-Z, pop star Lady Gaga and country group Lady Antebellum following just behind with six nominations each.
"This year's nominations are a true reflection of an exceptional and talented community of music makers that embody some of the highest levels of excellence and artistry in their respective fields," said Neil Portnow, President/CEO of The Recording Academy. "It is most gratifying to see the Grammy Awards process once again produce a broad cross-section of diverse and impressive nominees across multiple genres."
The 53rd annual Grammy Awards will air live on CBS from the Staples Center in Los Angeles on Feb. 13.
