LOS ANGELES – Sir Elton John took his baby son to visit a dolphin last Thursday.
The 64-year-old musician was joined by his husband David Furnish and nine-month-old Zachary - who the gay couple welcomed into the world via a surrogate in December 2010 - on a trip to the Georgia Aquarium, Atlanta, where he shook flippers with the friendly creature on a behind-the-scenes tour of the center.
One onlooker noted Elton was being very much the "embarrassing dad" in his youthful tracksuit.
The passer-by said: "There was his father shaking a dolphin's flipper while in a very unfashionable tracksuit - every inch the embarrassing dad. Elton and David seemed to be having fun though, and the dolphin appeared happy to meet the family as well."
The 'Rocket Man' hitmaker recently admitted he "adores" spending time with his son, and finds he cheers him up whenever he is down.
He said: "When I'm singing at night, I sometimes think of him during a set and burst out laughing. He's a great antidote to feeling miserable. Every single second he's just adorable. He just makes me smile so much. He's just a gorgeous little boy."
