HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Chris Brown has taken another step towards putting his life back together.
The 21-year-old singer has completed a court-ordered domestic violence class stemming from his conviction for assaulting ex-girlfriend Rihanna.
"I'm done with class," Brown said Monday on Twitter, where he also posted his certificate of completion.
He later added, "i have enough self respect and decency to be proud of accomplishing this DV class. Boyz run from [their] mistakes. Men learn from them!!!"
In August 2009, Brown was sentenced to five years of probation, six months of community labor and the one-year domestic-violence class after pleading guilty to one count of felony assault against Rihanna. He was also ordered to stay away from the "Umbrella" singer for five years.
Brown was arrested after getting into a fight with Rihanna in the early morning hours of Feb. 8, 2009.
