HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Charlie Sheen has checked into rehab.
The Two and a Half Men star voluntarily entered an undisclosed rehabilitation center on Friday, his rep revealed in a statement, adding that Sheen "is most grateful to all who have expressed their concern."
The news comes a day after Sheen was rushed to a Los Angeles hospital for what has been described as severe abdominal pains. Friends say the emergency was the result of an old hernia injury, but sources tell TMZ that Sheen had been partying for 36 hours straight.
The actor's hit series is now going on hiatus as a result of the rehab stint.
"We are profoundly concerned for his health and well-being, and support his decision," CBS, Warner Bros. Television and the show's executive producer, Chuck Lorre, said Friday in a statement.
Sheen, 45, reportedly kicked off a party session on Tuesday, when he was joined by several others, including at least two porn stars. At one point, he allegedly had a "briefcase full of cocaine" delivered to his pad, a source at the house told TMZ.
