NEW YORK – The Tribeca Film Festival will open with Cameron Crowe's documentary "The Union" and a performance by its subject, Elton John.
Opening night of the 10th annual Tribeca Film Festival was announced Wednesday. Crowe's film, which depicts the recent collaboration between John and Leon Russell, will premiere April 20 at a free, outdoor screening at the World Financial Plaza.
John will perform after the film.
Tribeca was co-founded by Robert De Niro, Jane Rosenthal and Craig Hatkoff. It runs from April 20 to May 1.
Its entire slate will be announced in the coming weeks.
