LAS VEGAS, Nev. — Bruno Mars has moved another step closer to resolving his Las Vegas drug case.
The 25-year-old singer, whose real name is Peter Hernandez, told a Las Vegas judge Friday that he'll plead guilty to a felony cocaine charge that would be wiped from his record if he stays out of trouble for a year, according to the Associated Press.
Under the terms of the plea deal worked out last week, Mars will spend a year on probation, pay a $2,000 fine, perform 200 hours of community service and complete drug counseling.
Mars will enter his plea at an arraignment hearing set for Feb. 14 — the day after the Grammy Awards in Los Angeles.
The "Grenade" singer was arrested on Sept. 19, 2010 after security at the Hard Rock Hotel confronted him in a bathroom and found him holding 2.6 grams of coke.
Mars received seven nominations for the upcoming Grammys, including best male pop vocal for his breakout hit, "Just the Way You Are."
